This political season has been crazy. There are things that are happening during this election season that makes everyone question their sanity. In the championship round we have Hillary Clinton versus Donald Trump. The polls are actually close between him and the Notorious HRC. Based on the latest poll numbers (9/26/16) – it’s a virtual tie. The question I must ask is how bad of a candidate is HRC if she lost to the first black president and is a tight race with the first orange republican nominee?
But is she a bad candidate? Not really. I’ll get to that later.
Somehow in this day and age Trump has convinced the world that black lives don’t matter and neither does facts. It’s an amazing trick he’s pulling. Let’s be clear – all politicians lie or finesse the truth. The dumbest thing I continually hear on the campaign trail is I want a president like me. Seriously, have you looked at yourself in the mirror? With all of your flaws – would you trust you to run the country?
Oh I know – if he can do it, then I know I can.
Sure. If, if was a 5th we’d all be drunk. Saying that is like that street baller saying that he could take anyone in the NBA. No you can’t. It doesn’t happen, ever. The 12th man on any NBA bench will wash you.
Back to the lecture at hand…
Trump or Drumph has continued to prey on unsuspecting voters. His method is genius he has cued in on Americans desire to be associated with a winner and their inner xenophobia that only manifests itself with their closest of friends. That’s where the magic happens. He has somehow transformed himself into this fictional winner that has never taken a loss. The L’s he’s racked up over the years are incredible. There isn’t any shame in taking an L, we all take them from time to time. He waves his orange wand and makes a smug face and people instantly forget. Because of that people assume he’s speaking from a position of authority because he doesn’t lose. It’s amazing.
It’s the frequency of his lying is unprecedented. Here is where more of his Drumph magic happens, when he is caught in a lie he tells the world that the fact checkers have political bias. And people buy it! You ever had that friend that constantly lies about the women he is sleeping with but everyone knows he’s lying so you just let him do it. That’s Donald Trump.
Wait, it gets better. He has been attacking Hillary for her husband’s indiscreations. Yes, you read that right. It’s Hillary Clinton’s fault that Bill cheated on her. This never happens in the real world, EVER. He was actually going to say that on Monday’s debate but the Grinch’s heart grew 2 sizes because he saw Chelsea Clinton. He also attacks her on President Clinton’s support of NAFTA (which was signed by President HW Bush), and her husband’s Crime Bill. Let’s logically think about this…he is criticizing her for actions from her husband. This has never happened in the history of presidential politics.
If all this happened during Barack Obama’s run to the presidency he would have never been elected. He had a Reverend say “God Damn” America and the nation lost their mind. Trump consistently demeans and objectifies women and conservatives are silent. Its headache inducing. If President Obama said half of things Trump has said Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity’s exploding heads would have forced Manhattan to implode. What boxes have been checked so far: business failures — even though he continually claims he’s a winner, lying about his policy, statements, and anything else possible, he’s misogynistic and sexist. So hmmmmm what else about him? He may not be a racist but at best he’s racist adjacent. He may not call you a nigger but he will treat you like one and then proclaim that he never said the N word. His words clearly demeans a race:
He actually said that. He. Actually. Said. That. Not only is it rude — it’s not factually correct. This is what his supporters like, he tells it like it is. No, he’s a dick. There’s a difference.
The fact that he equates race relations with ‘law and order’ is extremely disrespectful. Because you know — all blacks do is run around destroy shit every day. To place a cherry on this shit cake he wants to reinstate “Stop and Frisk” which was a failed policy and targeted minorities. Oh and let’s not forget the small fact that it’s unconstitutional. There are so many examples.
Sigh. This can’t be life.
I could go on…but I won’t I think you get the picture.
Is Hillary a bad candidate? John Kerry was bad candidate. Hillary is another animal. Maybe not a bad candidate but she certainly does not have the same charisma that Barry O had on the campaign trail . The reason she isn’t a great candidate has nothing to really do with any mistakes she may have had. It has everything to do with how she address them. She also has this weird shroud of secrecy around business and political relationships. While Trump is transparent with his ignorance Hillary seems to be translucent on policy, sketchy relationships, and emails.
I blame her for not snuffing out the email issue. She danced around answering the question for months instead of attacking it head on. If she said what she said at the debate on Monday last year about her emails it would be a non-issue. She didn’t and because she never really answered the question early in the process it just “hung around like an unpaid bill”. It’s so weird conservatives praise the justice system when cops that kill minorities are exonerated. But they run around pouting like 5 year olds when that same justice system didn’t indict Hillary. Make up your mind, you can’t have it both ways.
HRC is the smart kid who just lacks the “it” factor. She is brilliant strategist — she has a keen understanding of foreign policy and domestic issues. Her understanding and her relaying that to the American public — sometimes falls flat. In a field where you have Trump whose personality is made for TV and coming out of a primary season with a fiery grandfather figure of Bernie Sanders, it’s easy to see why Hillary is viewed as just Ho Hum. She will possibly be following one of the most charismatic speakers in presidential history. To her credit, she showed that energy on Monday night. She looked presidential and relatable.
We all want to run to the corner of “she not honest or trustworthy” when that’s not really the argument. If you want honest and trustworthy 100% of the time — get a dog. Even they would lie after they chewed a shoe if they could muster words. We need to be honest with ourselves — very few have a logical reason for not liking her. You may not want to confront your inner sexist, or you don’t like the way she smiles or laughs, or any other weird things I’ve heard.
You’re going to vote for Jill Stein or Gary Johnson. Really? Come on, you don’t want those problems. Both have been given mainstream spots to look presidential and both have failed miserably.
If I have an option I’m always going with the smart kid. Yes, I’m with HER.
