This Colin Kaepernick thing just demonstrates how most of America doesn’t understand nuance. You make false equivocations that aren’t relevant. Sitting at the National Anthem (that has a racist past) and not respecting our military is completely unrelated. It shows the lack of ability of deep thought. Instead f actually understanding where he is coming from you wrap yourself in the flag, ignore the homeless veterans on your way to your suburban/rural homes and completely disregard the state of minorities in this country.

Good job on being the lazy American that the rest of the world hates.

While no one is proclaiming Kaepernick to be the new Huey Newton what we are commending is the courage it took for him to not only do a protest but to speak eloquently about his feelings on this matter. It courageous because when you take a stand like this, often your sponsors leave you which can in turn affect your finances. He spoke from a genuine place of concern. This has gone on to spotlight more of the societal ills that face this country.
